HMSHost International
Due to lack of internal capacity, HMSHost International decides to outsource the management of the entire network infrastructure. Quality guides the company in all preparatory work for the delivery and standardization of a brand new network infrastructure.
HMSHost International is part of the Autogrill Group, the global market leader in hospitality at dynamic locations such as airports, train stations and shopping centers. This trendsetting hospitality organization invents, develops and facilitates hospitality concepts and implement them daily and worldwide at airports, train stations and shopping centers.
Vision & Strategy
The Network Consultant is involved in discussions with the stakeholders to clarify requirements, wishes and future vision. Remco Vaal is the second Solution Architect working on this project. He supports the consultants and engineers who are responsible for carrying out various projects from an operational perspective and is involved in the optimization of the network on various platforms.
Architecture
Solution Architect Martijn Vuik examines the architectural blueprint of HMSHost International. His task is to standardize all domains and create a solid foundation. In order to obtain the necessary information, Martijn consulted a Network Engineer to carry out an as-is inventory.
Functional design
Within this project, Martijn Vuik also acts as Network Architect. Due to his consultancy and engineering capabilities, he is excellent at translating the architectural blueprint he wrote into functional designs (High Level Designs). As soon as the blueprint has been completed and approved, Martijn links all architectural requirements and functions to specific measures in these High Level Designs (HLDs).

Technical design
Then it is up to the Network Consultant to write the technical designs (Low Level Designs) based on these documents. In this project this is Alex Pechtold.
In the LLDs, Alex elaborates all components from the LLDs in detail into a technical description. Here too, the requirements and wishes of HMSHost International remain leading and the future vision is tested. Lees meer ››
Uitvoering
Zodra de LLD’s voltooid zijn is het tijd voor Network Engineers Bonnie Kol en Randy Matahelumual om de Change Implementation Plannen (CIP’s) te voorzien van de juiste informatie en van start te gaan met de uitvoering. Ze brengen onder andere het dataverkeer, alle aan elkaar gekoppelde apparaten, de configuraties, gebruikte commando’s en consistentie van alle verbindingen en poortjes in kaart.
Beheer
Network Engineers Bonnie Kol en Izaak Tamaëla fungeren bij het project ook als netwerkbeheerder, om het huidige netwerk draaiende te houden en ter ondersteuning bij het implementeren, configureren en installeren van compleet nieuwe netwerken op nog te openen locaties. Daarbij hoort ook de nodige after care, waaronder alles correct in de monitoring zetten en het controleren van de diensten.
